Innovation in Insect Netting: The Flat Corner

The greenhouse industry is constantly evolving. Growers are continuously searching for new ways to optimise the growth of their crops. The benefits of insect netting in greenhouses are becoming increasingly clear. More and more growers are consciously choosing this sustainable solution to protect their crops from harmful insects while maintaining their desired climate conditions and meeting government requirements.

With the development of the flat corner in accordion systems, Holland Gaas has taken another significant step forward in the evolution of insect netting. Currently, Holland Gaas is the only provider of an accordion system with the patented flat corner. The advantages include even pressure on the frame, a much better closure of the window, and improved ventilation.

Especially for frameless ventilation windows, a thickening at the corners is highly undesirable. Another advantage of a thinner package is that the brushes of the roof washers wear out much less.

What is the difference compared to the old system? Traditional accordion netting consists of 22 to 34 slats and features thickened corners due to the connection method. In this method, the slats overlap at the corners, creating a thickened area. By developing an entirely new manufacturing technique, Holland Gaas has replaced the thickened corners with flat corners with a seamless connection. This significantly reduces the risk of gaps, which is particularly important in these times of energy conservation.

A flat corner, combined with various mesh openings, wire thicknesses, and slat widths, ensures the right choice for all types of ventilation frames: a new step forward!
