Raamsdonksveer / Etten-Leur – Two leading players in the horticultural sector, Rovero and Growtec, have jointly developed promising new growing concepts for soft fruit cultivation. The combined expertise of Rovero in poly greenhouses and Growtec in growing systems will help growers increase their yield and fruit quality in a sustainable and efficient manner .
“The soft fruit sector is on the verge of a transformation,” expects Rovero’s director Jacco van Delden. The strategic partnership immediately takes shape with Rovero’s introduction of the AirVent fruit covering system. The base design features a gutter height of 8.2 to 10.5 feet and a unique ventilation system. The 14.4-foot wide structure includes a 3.6-foot gutter ventilation running the entire length and is covered with the new self-ventilating Vento-film .
Field trials under this revolutionary covering film have already demonstrated yield increases of up to 15%. The robust construction with horizontal steel profiles can easily handle heavy loads and is perfectly suited for suspended growing systems, Growtec’s area of expertise. Growing gutters are seamlessly rolled and installed on-site, equipped with state-of-the-art irrigation and optional fogging systems .

“I have very high expectations for this partnership,” states Ruud van Aperen, director of Growtec Netherlands. “We each fulfill a market need, and this joining of forces opens new perspectives for innovation and market development. This allows us to strongly position ourselves.” Jacco van Delden adds: “We increasingly receive requests for high-quality growing solutions that combine increased yields with efficiency .”
“Together, we can meet these needs and provide customized solutions for soft fruit growers looking to push boundaries.”
