Great Lakes Growers, a premier U.S. producer of locally grown leafy greens, is setting a new standard for high-tech leafy greens production with >3700m² expansion at its Middlefield, Ohio facility. The addition, which builds upon the company’s existing 11,150m² of production space, represents the next step in a long-term partnership with the GreenV group, a collective of leading horticultural technology companies from around the world.
Integrated expertise from the GreenV network
The project is a result of the combined expertise of the GreenV companies and Partners:
Together, these companies created a state-of-the-art greenhouse designed for long-term performance, efficiency, and productivity.
Next phase: The GreenV Leafy Greens System
The upcoming phase of development will see the installation of the GreenV Leafy Greens System, a precision-engineered technology designed for automated, high-volume leafy greens production. This advanced system supports year-round production with rigid gutters engineered for stability, smooth low-friction movement, and seamless integration into automated processes. Its light-blocking design and precision-drilled plug holes minimize algae and disease pressure, delivering target yields and consistent crop quality. Additionally, the system features a closed-loop system that captures and recirculates water, achieving up to 95% water savings.
Building for the future
This expansion represents the next step in Great Lakes Growers and the GreenV partnership. Advancing scalable, sustainable cultivation systems where integration, innovation, and collaboration take the lead. Together, the partners prove that when advanced greenhouse technology and precise cultivation come together, the future of horticulture can be both profitable and sustainable.
