Mitchell van der Drift is been named CEO of Mountain High Greenhouse Construction, effective January 1st, 2023. The company is one of America’s largest subcontractors in turnkey greenhouse construction projects.
Mountain High was founded by Gill van der Drift in Colorado in 1992. He has been a successful entrepreneur in the horti world for almost 44 years and has operated as owner and President of Mountain High Greenhouse Construction for 30 years. Now, Gill is stepping down from his role and will remain an active member of the company in an advisory position, or as Gill likes to call it, ‘early retirement.’
Mitchell van der Drift is CEO of Mountain High Greenhouse Construction as of January 1st, 2023. “He has been with the company for over ten years and has been instrumental in advancing the company to the point we are today,” commented Gill van der Drift. “Over the past decade, Mountain High has been increasingly focusing on turnkey projects, and currently working on six different projects in 6 states, simultaneously with over 50 staff members,” Mitchell van der Drift pointed out. “For instance, we are currently working on two identical, turnkey projects for a customer, which means foundation work, construction, screen system, heating, storage tank, excavation, irrigation, and installing a mobile gully system. For these projects, careful planning is of the utmost importance. When this is coupled with our flexibility with staff and machinery, we make sure to follow the building schedule while maintaining the same high quality.”
“In a market that is continuously growing in demand for greenhouse-grown products, Mitchell’s vision is to keep expanding Mountain High while keeping the expected service and flexibility that our customers are used to,” Gill concluded.
