Anorel is a Belgian based supplier and producer of fertilisers, active for over 20 years and in more than 40 countries. The product range includes water-soluble fertilisers, tailor-made NPK fertilisers, chelates, bio stimulants as well as organic and organo-mineral fertilisers. Anorel continuously focuses on the optimalisation of products and concepts through active research and development. This approach results in highly qualitative products to guarantee the best results.
Sustainability is one of Anorel’s core values. Showcasing this is our recent research project Tombustion, supported by the University of Ghent and VLAIO; Flanders agency for innovation and entrepreneurship. In this project we aim to optimise a production process for a circular mineral MKP-fertiliser out of tomato plant waste in an energy-efficient way.
Nowadays agriculture and climate face numerous challenges:
• Fertiliser production requires a lot of energy currently mostly of fossil origin. Raw materials for essential mineral
fertilisers are finite and irreplaceable. Production processes are ecological unfriendly.
• Changing legislation concerning more sustainable agriculture in the future is creating restrictions for fertiliser use.
• Farmers have a lot of residual waste which currently isn’t used optimally.
Given these challenges, there is a growing demand for sustainable and circular fertilisers. To give an answer to this question, Anorel launched the Tombustion project for the recovery of a mineral fertiliser and energy out of tomato plant waste. The Tombustion project is a great addition in our pursuit to make Anorel a socially responsible and sustainable organization.
