Modiform now sells only circular thermoformed pots

This represents a sustainable step for the entire supply chain

Modiform is stopping its sales of non-circular thermoformed pots and in doing so closes the polypropylene (PP) material loop. The renewed product range consists exclusively of circular pots. These pots are recyclable, as the material used is recognised and separated when disposed of with household waste. With this, the company ensures that the raw materials are kept in the supply chain.

For decades, the family company has committed itself to a sustainable way of thinking and acting. The company looks further than its own production and in Horizon2025 has formulated an ambition to work with the entire supply chain to bring about sustainable change in the sector. John van der Maarel (Sales Director at Modiform) says, ‘That is why it made perfect sense for us to make the decision to only sell circular pots. This is another great step on the road to a more sustainable future’.

Circular pots: Recycled & recyclable
The PP material used for making pots is 100% recycled plastic. The circular thermoformed pots can be discarded with existing household waste streams. The pots have been awarded the Cyclos certificate, the independent quality mark which indicates that a product meets all requirements for recycling. With our Recycled and Recyclable (R&R) and Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) product range, growers and retailers automatically choose sustainable, high-quality, and beautiful products, and consumers are assured of proper waste processing when disposing of pots via the household waste stream.
