Animal welfare has the highest priority with the Doro-Box

11 December 2024 | Int. Livestockhousing Guide |

Cows housed in a barn with comfortable lying areas and plenty of fresh air will reward you with higher milk production. The German company Zimmermann Stalltechnik designed the Doro-Box based on this philosophy. These cubicles bring the same level of comfort found in the pasture right to the cows in the barn. The Doro-Box offers cows optimal lying comfort. There is plenty of space for the cow to move its head forward when lying down and rising.

These cubicles provide outstanding comfort levels and, thanks to the unique design, the cows lie in a straight position, which also keeps them cleaner. The cows feel visibly more at ease than in conventional cubicles. Thanks to the moveable, sprung neck chain and the absence of a neck rail and head rail, cows have complete freedom of movement when rising and lying down.

The Doro-Box is completely manufactured from 2-inch tube and is mounted in a heavy-duty double mounting base. This mounting base is anchored by four anchor bolts to which the cubicle partition is attached by a clamping plate. The curved neck rail ensures an extremely stable construction and allows the use of a neck chain. A combination of the Doro-Box with a deep litter cubicle or a ZIM-soft cow mattress offers cows optimal lying comfort.
