With the unprecedented raise of the energy prices, many lighted winter crops in Europe are no longer profitable, even when they are lighted with the newest LED technology from recent generations. LED manufacturers like Osram Opto in Regensburg Germany still make significant progress on component level in the efficiency battle, but not enough to cope with the recent soured energy prices to assure a doable and profitable outlook. Therefore MechaTronix has developed a next generation LED grow lamp which not only allows light level controls, but which is able to alter the light spectrum depending on the radiation of the sun.
In this way both the white/green part of the light spectrum, which is needed on the darkest days to generate a comfortable work environment, as well as the far red part of the light which allows steering between vegetative and generative growth, can both be automated with PAR sensors to achieve the correct levels. This dynamic light controls has been tested on various crops over the past years and can save up to 15% of extra energy compared to regular LED grow lights with a fix light spectrum.
The new CoolStack MAX DYNAMIC as the product is baptized, comes on the market by May 2023 and will be an absolute game-changer for the future of lighted crops. MechaTronix, with its headquarter in Breda The Netherlands and further affiliates in Belgium and Taiwan, is known as the technology innovator in LED grow lights over the past years. With over 500 hectare of global operated greenhouse installations the company has a proven position among the market leaders.
