The global market for growth monitoring and harvest forecasting in horticulture is estimated at €17 billion. This figure represents not only the costs of crop scouting but also the significant financial impact of crop damage and inaccurate harvest predictions. Improving rose yield prediction alone could save growers more than €50 million annually worldwide.
Corvus Drones was founded in 2019 and has won many international innovation awards, including the Greentech Amsterdam Innovation Award or the TU Delft International Micro Air Vehicle. Initially focused on seed germination monitoring for breeders and young plant growers, Corvus Drones has since expanded its applications to include growth and flowering monitoring and inventory management. The Corvus Drones team includes 12 people and the drones fly in more than 15 countries worldwide.
In 2024, Corvus Drones introduced rose yield prediction technology, achieving a proven accuracy of 95% for certain varieties. Key learnings highlighted the importance of local expertise in East Africa and Latin America, as well as strong rose crop domain knowledge for successful implementation and adoption of automated yield prediction.
At the International Floriculture Trade Fair (IFTF) 2025, Corvus Drones will announce the collaboration with three rose yield prediction expert companies: GrowerAdviser, Lima Labs and Scarab Solutions. These partners are in the lead to growers offering rose yield prediction applications. Corvus Drones will be their partner for the 100% automatic greenhouse drone data-collection as part of their solution.
→ Michael Yushchuk (Head of data-science GrowerAdviser: “By combining Corvus Drones imagery with granular local climate data, we reliably forecast rose yield two to three weeks ahead with high accuracy; empowering growers with actionable insights to optimise harvest timing, reduce waste, improve crop quality and boost revenue across diverse regions.”
→ Steven de Bruin (commercial director Lima Labs: “”We are excited to announce the technical handshake between Corvus Drones and Lima Labs. In combination with our strategic partnership with Chrysal, exclusively offering our services in East Africa & Latin America, we believe to provide an end-to-end solution for growers that want to improve the input & output of every hectare of their operation”.
→ Mikkel Grum (owner Scarab Solutions): “”Scarab Solutions has transformed crop protection for East African and Latin American rose growers through precision data analytics. Combined with Corvus Drones’ autonomous drone technology, we’re extending our proven modelling expertise to rose yield forecasting. With strong regional field teams already supporting thousands of greenhouses, we’re delivering the actionable predictions growers need to optimize production and profitability.”
Corvus Drones will be exhibiting at the IFTF in November 2025 (booth A1.27) , showcasing the latest advancements in rose yield prediction and crop monitoring technology.
