French flooring manufacturer Bioret is launching the Delta-X flooring system onto the market. The floor system separates urine and solid manure at the source, effectively reducing ammonia emissions by up to 70%, according to the manufacturer.
The Delta-X barn floor consists of rubber floor components with 3% slopes created on either side of the channels in the alley. Conveyors belts are mounted between the channels. Gravity guides the urine down the slope to the conveyor belt.
A manure scraper removes the solid manure from the rubber floor. This ensures better hygiene for the animals and significantly reduces ammonia emissions. Quickly separating the urine outside the barn optimises the cleanliness of the floor.
The unpleasant smell of ammonia is removed, so the cows and stockpersons can breathe better.
This healthier environment boosts production.
