The Challenge: Creating a Comfortable Environment for Hens While Improving Egg Collection Efficiency

For Simon Hansen, a 29-year-old egg producer from Denmark, providing a natural and comfortable space for his hens while also streamlining daily tasks was key. On his farm, Simon runs two hen houses, each home to 12,000 hens.

Managing these numbers meant Simon needed a solution that would support the hens’ well-being and make egg collection easier.

The Solution: An Efficient, More Practical Tiered Aviary System by Landmeco

Simon chose Landmeco’s Combo aviary system—a tiered housing solution that easily connects to smart controls—to modernize both of his hen houses.

“What I am really happy about with Landmeco,” Simon explains,
“is that they have nests with mats that work like grass mats. The hens lie there safely and comfortably, and the eggs roll out onto a belt, which makes packing much easier.” With Landmeco’s design, hens are free to jump and perch naturally during the day and rest securely at night. The system’s comfort-driven design enhances animal welfare, while the egg belt minimizes handling, reduces breakage, and saves valuable time during collection.
