Harvesting-cycles and the importance of NOWOGREEN!

Cycle 1: In those period the crops need as much as possible sunlight to grow. Nowogreen does have a SHGC-value of 94% (clear as well diffuse type). That means that the IR thermal radiation heats the greenhouse –>lower costs of needed energy to heat the greenhouse!

Cycle 2: 80% of installed greenhouses are lacquering chalk-paints on the roof to minimize the high UV-radiation in order to protect the crops from too much heat and UV. By end of period 2 they have to wash away the paint .
–>about 2.000 Euro/ Ha/ Saison for lacquer as well solvent (only material)
–>lot of water needed
–>additional labour cost to do the process
–>not sustainable

Within NOWOGREEN you have to use screens to protect the crops. Much more comfortable, those can be steered automatically – no additional resources necessary! Most sustainable solution.

Cycle 3: Day´s are becoming shorter and shorter. Every ray of light you can get without additional electricity-lighting is desirable. Within ETFE you will have the highest UV-transmission compared to other materials like PE, glass, PC etc..
