Having grown up at a nursery, three brothers had always been fascinated by innovation in horticultural automation. They spent endless summers helping around the nursery and thought there must be better ways instead of the manual labour.
In 1999 they founded Degramec and built the first Degraplace, a mobile potrobot to take plants of conveyor belts and place them on the ground. In 2011 the Terra-Spacer was added, which is fed with plants by forklifts and automatically spacens the plants on the ground.
Finally the Compact was created in 2015 which combines the flexibility in spacing of the Degraplace and the bufferbelt of the Terra-Spacer. The latter two machines use bufferbelts, so Degramec soon also grew to a buffertable supplier.
For quite some time, there have been buffertables around with push-over and take-off systems. Degramec excels in offering client specific solutions suitable for various sizes of pots and trays. For the Compact robots they needed a more compact take-off system so they developed an entirely new patented system. Various iterations were made, depending on the clients requirements.
In 2023, this system with rolls was further developed and the newest system with moving roller bed was created.
This offers the highest capacities in the industry, as well as further improving reliability.
The plants move onto the rolls, coming from the bufferbelt. The roller bed slides towards the discharge conveyor while the pusher gets into position. Once the previous line of plants is gone, the pusher shoves the line of plants onto the discharge conveyor. This results in a clean movement and very high capacity.
This new unit can be integrated into the Compact mobile robot, but also used as a regular buffertable and a loose take-off unit. The system can be customized to accommodate various sizes of pots, as well as trays.
