New motor range at Vervaeke

29 August 2011 | Int. Livestockhousing Guide |

The purpose is to be able to control all kinds of installations with only one motor and only one controller type. The application is not limited to adjustable side ventilation, but is intended for all kinds of gates.

– The basic principle is an adjustable controller, which limits the motor torque to the minimum needed for the specific application. It can be seen as an electronic overload clutch.

– This way, it can prevent an oversized motor to destroy the load in case of an obstruction/ overload.

– So, the need to using a small motor for a small curtain, and a medium sided or more powerful motor for a
medium sized and larger curtain will expire.

– The input of the controller is a single-phase voltage and the output is a frequency-controlled 3 phase
380 V current.

– In contrast with the motors without a controller, delivering their maximum power at ounce, and risking to
destroy the weakest parts, especially in case of large gauzes/windbreaks, the new controller provides a soft
start and a soft stop.

– The controller also limits the speed to an (adjustable) preset value.

– This means that the operation remains safe up to a speed of 8 times the present values

– It is also possible to increase the torque with a factor 4 without running an overload risk. This opens the
possibility of the operation of even bigger curtains than now.

– As an option, one can always connect a rain sensor.

– A climate computer can be incorporated in the expanded controller.

– All climate computers have standard a data logger that registers all relevant data up to 3 months long.
