The production operation cycle inside greenhouses and nurseries begins with the preparation of the substrate in which the seed will be sown: to ensure a proper growth of horticultural plants, it is crucial to process with care the peat or the soil to achieve the optimal texture and humidity level before filling the trays.
Atlantic Man. has perfected two automated loading systems for shredding large volumes of pressed substrate (big bale), pouring in the hopper a homogeneous and ready-to-use compound.
The horizontal big bale loader is an incredibly versatile system: the possibility to move it easily into the working area, depending on the space requirements, makes it suitable for any greenhouse or nursery configuration. Moreover, it can be used as a single working unit or integrated into a production line to feed other machinery, such as potting machines and seeding lines.
By shaving the bale laterally and working uniformly throughout its height, this loader allows for the simultaneous removal of peat from the wetter base and the drier top, thus obtaining a completely homogeneous product throughout the processing phase. Thanks to the tilting processing system of the bale, the residual peat left inside the machine after processing is minimal, which speeds up bale replacement times. This makes this system particularly suitable for productions requiring large quantities of substrate in a short time.
The vertical big bale loader, with its vertical extension, represents the perfect solution for greenhouses with limited workspace and can be used either individually or in a working line with other systems.
The shredding process of the peat bale is carried out using a toothed chain crusher, placed at the top of the machine, which moves horizontally. This keeps the peat bale nearly intact, making it easy to remove the residual pallet to potentially replace it with a different type. Additionally, since this system is more enclosed compared to the outside, it protects the bale so that fertilizers or chemical elements inside do not evaporate if the peat remains in the machine for an extended period without being used. Thus, the residual mixture can be stored in optimal conditions directly inside the loader, keeping it suitable for subsequent processing.
