Some greenhouses require a unique screen, a screen that does not yet exist and needs to be custom-made. This is no problem with Ridder’s Co-Created Screens concept. Using this concept, Ridder designs bespoke screens that incorporate the customer’s individual needs.
We do this by first making an analysis of the project based on the location, the climate and the requirements of the customer. We then look at our wide range of screen fabrics and determine what comes closest to the customer’s needs. Based on this combination, we design a co-created screen variant. There are so many possibilities, from custom widths to multiple screen combinations. “Working together with growers and installers, we create screens based entirely on the needs of the customer,” says Johan van Erven, product specialist at Ridder.
Ridder produces these custom screens, as well as the standard sizes, in the Westland region of the Netherlands, the epicentre of the global horticulture sector, using four state-of-the-art knitting machines. Our production process is not a secret, so screen installers, dealers and growers are more than welcome to come and take a look in our Dutch factory in Maasdijk. Our screen experts will be happy to explain to you how the machines produce the fabrics, how Ridder ensures their quality and what is involved in creating high-end screen fabrics. More information?
