Omar Taleb, an agricultural engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the sector, will be responsible for Sanjorge’s development and expansion in Africa.
Técnicas Sanjorge, a company specialising in the provision of services and development of clean, sustainable and environmentally efficient agricultural solutions, is pleased to announce its landing in Morocco through the recruitment of a Development and Commercial Expansion Manager, Omar Taleb, an agricultural engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the sector, thus beginning its expansion phase on the African continent.
Morocco is in a strategic location that will give a boost to TSJ’s sales network, giving the possibility to offer its customers a more efficient and closer service.
In a world where agriculture plays a vital role in food security and sustainable development, experience and innovation become fundamental pillars for progress. Agriculture accounts for about 14 % of Morocco’s GDP and employs about 34.56 % of the country’s workforce, although there has been a declining trend in recent years due to the growth of other sectors such as tourism and trade. Irrigated agriculture occupies only about 14% of the country’s cultivated area and accounts for about 60% of the total agricultural production, which represents 16% of the country’s GDP value added. This type of agriculture accounts for about 99% of sugar production, 82% of vegetable production, and 75% of animal feed production.
Omar Taleb said, “In line with the group’s global expansion strategy, the company’s positioning on the African continent is a further demonstration of our commitment to our customers’ requirements. I am pleased to introduce myself as the person in charge of leading the company’s expansion in Morocco. This initiative reflects not only our commitment to excellence in customer service, but also our vision of global expansion and collaboration in agriculture”.
Through this opening, TSJ seeks to strengthen its presence in Morocco and in its area of influence, as it realised that its activities there still had room for growth. The organisation has focused its first phase of development on the commercialisation of services for the manufacture of new, more resistant greenhouse structures, hydroponics and innovative irrigation systems aimed at increasing crop productivity, saving water and reducing costs.
“The decision to establish a delegation in Morocco is the result of careful analysis and a clear vision for the future. Morocco, with its diverse climate and commitment to sustainable agriculture, offers an environment conducive to growth and collaboration. By being closer to our customers in this strategic region, we will be able to better understand their specific needs and offer customised solutions that will drive their success,” says Omar taleb.
As a starting point in this new process, the company will participate in the SIAM 2024 international trade fair at ́̃, .
This fair is now in its 16th edition and will take place at () a .
TSJ’s objective at the event is to “offer customers and visitors to the event the latest innovations in the manufacture of more resistant greenhouse structures, as well as to present innovative integrated irrigation systems with which we can save costs and increase productivity while at the same time boosting our company’s ability to maintain and support current business relationships and open up new contacts,” says Omar.
